KUCHING: The Ambassador of Romania to Malaysia and Brunei Darussalam Nineta Barbulescu will be in the city for six days for an official visit which will include paying a courtesy call to Head of State Tun Pehin Abdul Taib Mahmud.
Nineta and her husband, Dan-Cristian Barbulescu are expected to arrive here on Monday (Mar 14) and her official visit will start on the next day.
On her first day, Nineta will be meeting with the Minister of Education, Innovation, and Talent Development Datuk Roland Sagah Wee Inn followed by a meeting with Minister of Tourism, Creative Industry, and Performing Arts Datuk Seri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah in the morning.
Later in the afternoon, she will be meeting with Kuching City South Council (MBKS) Mayor Datuk Wee Hong Seng.
On Mar 16, Nineta will be meeting with Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS) vice-chancellor Datuk Prof Dr Mohamad Kadim followed by a meeting with the Head of Council for Native Customs and Tradition Datuk Ronnie Edward.
At 3pm on the same day, she is expected to visit the Borneo Culture Museum (BCM) and meet with its director Tazudin Mohtar.
The next day, she will pay a courtesy call to Taib as well as Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan.
Her visit will continue with a meeting with State Legislative Assembly (DUN) Speaker Tan Sri Datuk Amar Mohamad Asfia Awang Nasar and Kuching North City Commission (DBKU) Mayor Junaidi Reduan in the afternoon.
On Mar 18, Nineta will be taken for a tour of the Sarawak Cultural Village (SCV) in the morning.
She will then depart for Siniawan Heritage Town in the evening and will attend a dinner which is to be hosted by Serembu assemblyman Miro Simuh.
Nineta will back to Kuala Lumpur at 1.50pm on March 19.
Nineta, 54, born in Galati City, Romania was appointed Ambassador of Romania to Malaysia in January 22, 2021 and to Brunei Darussalam in March 2, 2021.
