PADAWAN: The Rotary Embrace Gen Alpha service project by Rotary Club of Kuching Unity City benefited SK Saint Bernard Sadir here on yesterday (Feb 10).
Students and teachers received donated items that brought them delight and gratitude, such as eye supplements, deworming medications and sanitary pads.
Donated by Anna Cake House, Flexxo Trading, Regal International Group, and Alpro Pharmacy, the club also presented pencil cases, white boards, novels, mini flags, gifts of love, a hockey set, and mural painting supplies to the school.
The organiser also arranged a health talk to brief participants on the importance of taking deworming medication.
Apart from that, experts from Guan Ho Leong Optical contributed their time to providing eye assessments, working with the 20 dB Hearing Centre, which helped with hearing assessments, as well as Alpro Pharmacy, which helped with health screening.
The club commended that the experts were dedicated to making the community a better place and ensuring that everyone has access to vital resources.
Meanwhile, four talented painters – Gerald Goh, Ng Paik San, Angelina Bong, and Winnie Wong – also visited the school to assist with painting the school mural.
With the assistance of volunteers from Regal International Group, including Jason, David Ng, Sheila Ann, and Lau Yew Ling, 10 talented students and their teacher Carol also assisted in repainting the mural.
Their artistic ability made the school more beautiful and improved the learning environment.
The Rotary Club has extended their gratitude to Rhino Motors, Isuzu for providing transportation, and Kai Production for video editing and shooting.
Officiated at by Mambong assemblyman Datuk Dr Jerip Susil, the project were also participated by Rotary Club of Kuching Unity City members and 31 volunteers.
