MIRI: Royal Brunei Airlines Sdn Bhd has been allowed to operate two charter flights from Miri to Brunei Darussalam today.

Minister in charge of Miri Division Disaster Management Committee Datuk Lee Kim Shin in a statement today said the flights were meant to carry 133 Sarawakians working with Brunei LNG Sdn Bhd.

He said the approval to operate was granted with the condition that the Royal Brunei Airlines Sdn Bhd comply with the standard operating procedures (SOP) issued by the National Security Council (MKN), Ministry of Health and SDMC Entry Guidelines to Sarawak for Commercial Flight Crew.

“Flight crew must not leave the aircraft and maintain good personal hygiene such as wearing face mask, using hand sanitiser, practising physical distancing while no interaction is allowed between the flight crew and ground handling personnel,” said Lee who is also the Sarawak Minister of Transport.

He said the approval was conveyed by his ministry to Royal Brunei Airlines Sdn Bhd on Monday. – Bernama
