MUKAH: Road users should prioritise their own safety as well as that of others, especially during festive seasons, according to Tellian assemblyman Royston Valentine.

Speaking during the Road Safety Campaign in conjunction with Hari Raya Aidilfitri 2023 at Menara Tinjau Jalan Boulevard, Mukah yesterday (April 20), Royston said that road safety is a shared responsibility, and if only one party prioritises safety, it can still lead to problems or accidents.

Therefore, he urged everyone who embarks on a journey to prioritise arriving safely, as nobody wants to experience an accident or an unfortunate incident, particularly if they are eagerly awaited by their loved ones.

Additionally, he reminded travelers not to overlook the importance of maintaining their vehicles before hitting the road.

During the programme, Royston distributed food packages to road users.

The programme was attended by several agencies, including the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM), Road Transport Department (JPJ), Mukah District Office and community leaders.
