SIBU: A simple cheer was brought to the underprivileged living at the temporary transit centre (TTG) here, yesterday (Dec 22).

Persiaran Brooke’s Komuniti Rukun Tetangga (KRT) demonstrated its caring nature by organising a Christmas celebration among the folk with dinner and fellowship sessions.

Some 14 homeless folk were provided meals and received Christmas gifts besides being entertained to caroling sessions.

KRT chairlady Belinda Wong Kwong Hung said the event was aimed at bringing joy to the neglected group besides sharing Christmas messages and vibes.

“The programme is also to strengthen the spiritual life of the homeless folk as well as to foster unity and harmony among people of different races, religions, culture and background,” she said.

The caroling session was engaged with Xin Fu Yuan Church singers led by its pastor in-charge Reverend Susanty Kedal.
