TATAU: Assistant Minister in the Chief Minister’s Department (Native Laws and Customs) Datuk John Sikie Tayai took to the field to monitor and track the progress of the rural transformation programme (RTP) currently underway in the Kakus constituency.
This ensures that the quality of the projects currently being implemented or have been completed are in accordance with the standards set.
Among the projects observed by Sikie include roof repair works being done on Rumah Robert longhouse in Ulu Kakus under the Sarawak Poor Home Improvement Programme (PPRMS).
Three other RTP projects in Ulu Kakus include road upgrade works heading to Rumah Degom and site levelling of Rumah Jayan and Rumah Kiah.
Sikie, who is also Kakus assemblyman, expressed his hopes that the project would be completed in time
Additionally, he was also confident that the projects would benefit the rural population once completed.
