KUCHING: The Food Industry, Commodity, and Regional Development Ministry must embrace teamwork to foster innovative and creative ideas to achieve the aim of the state government.

Its Minister Datuk Seri Dr Stephen Rundi Utom stressed the need for a clear direction and unified approach to achieve the state’s ambitious goal of becoming a net food exporter by 2030.

“We really have to work as a team. That’s the reason why we must have a driver, one driver. We cannot have too many drivers. We must have vision and know our target —where we want to go.

“Our Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg is continuously reminding of the state’s vision and target, urging all to focus on the objective of becoming a net food exporter by 2030. Do what you may, but that’s the target,” he said.

He was speaking at the Ministry’s Innovative and Creative Circle Convention (ICC) dinner and award giving ceremony here on Thursday.
