BINTULU: Minister of Food Industry, Commodity and Regional Development, Datuk Seri Dr. Stephen Rundi Utom, has urged rural communities to take advantage of the allocation offered under the Village Development and Security Committees (JKKK) Madani initiative for community development projects.
Dr. Rundi, who is also the Kemena assemblyman, stated that proposals which are complete and adhere to the required procedures will have a higher chance of receiving funding.
Conversely, he noted, those without certification or who fail to meet the requirements may not be approved.
“We can also apply for JKKK Madani funds. However, many are still unaware of what JKKK Madani is. This allocation of RM100,000 is always available, so don’t miss this opportunity. Applications must be submitted online, so it is necessary to learn how to fill them out.
“It’s unfortunate for those who are not yet skilled in this. I only found out about this recently during the Madani programme in Miri. Many received financial assistance then, including a participant in Tubau, but not in the form of cash.
“We need to submit a project proposal with an estimate of RM100,000, and funds will be disbursed based on the identified project, such as road construction. So, I urge everyone to submit their applications correctly.
“Typically, those without certification will not receive allocations, while those with certification and who follow the procedures will have a better chance of obtaining them,” he said.
He made these remarks during the presentation ceremony of the Minor Rural Project (MRP) grants for the Kemena constituency at the Bintulu Division Resident’s Office on Tuesday afternoon.
A total of RM745,000 in MRP funding was handed over to 12 recipients, including JKKK longhouses, Parent-Teacher Associations (PTA), and non-governmental organisations (NGOs) in the Kemena constituency.
