MIRI: Rural folks are excited about the initiative brought by the state government through Section 6 and Section 18 of the Sarawak Land Code (SLC).
With the perimeter survey carried out under Section 6 before proceeding to Section 18, majority of the native (landowners) lauded the government’s efforts.
For 2019, the state government has allocated RM40million for the perimeter survey of native customary rights (NCR) land in Sarawak
Edward Nullie, from Samalaju
Lands measured under Section 18 allow land owners to be given land titles and this shows that our government cares for the wellbeing of the rakyat.
Entimung Entalai, from Sungai Sebatu Suai
This initiative would definitely benefit the rakyat. I hope the allocation can be increased because there are many NCR lands yet to be measured.
Christina Gan , from Bukit Kisi
It’s a relief to hear that more NCR lands are being measured under Section 6 and given land titles through Section 18. This shows that our state government is committed in helping the rakyat.
George Sirai, from Bekenu
We should not fall into the opposition’s propaganda on NCR land issues, especially on Section 6 and Section 18. The bumiputera must know the true facts about these two sections before jumping into a conclusion.”
Ridun Baringai, from Bukit Kisi
It is a huge relief for us, and I also hope that the allocation for the perimeter surveyed can be increased in the future.
