Rural residents receive vaccine under outreach programme

DALAT: A total of 186 of the 213 residents of Nanga Baoh here registered as vaccine recipients under an outreach programme held in the village today.  

Welfare, Community Wellbeing, Women, Family and Childhood Development Minister and Dalat assemblywomen Datuk Seri Fatimah Abdullah participated in the programme held at Nanga Baoh Health Clinic located 16 kilometres from Dalat.

The programme started at 8.30 am where a total of ten staff from the Ministry of Health (MoH) were present to carry out vaccination duties at the clinic.

The MoH team was divided into two teams with one team conducting vaccinations at the Nanga Baoh Health Clinic where 115 villagers were given their jab.

Meanwhile, another team carried out the vaccinations for 71 people from four longhouses – Rh Lawai, Rh. Buan, Rh. Faith and Rh. Abuse.

Fatimah also visited a water supply project constructed under the Sarawak Alternative Water Supply Programme (Sawas) in the area.

The project is expected to benefit a total of 1,430 residents around the Nanga Baoh area comprising Rh. Balin, Rh Duah, Rh Tulu, Rh Bala, SK Nanga Baoh and Nanga Baoh Clinic.

The project includes a water treatment plant, raw water intake system, reservoir and distribution system to consumers.
