MIRI:  Rural schools in Batu Niah and Bekenu will be receiving more than 150 books and schools kits, thanks to the amazing donors – Belle Book store and Toys World Miri.

These donations included 50 dictionaries.

The project, initiated by Lions Club of Batu Niah, managed to raise support from the two donors to help schools from rural areas in Batu Niah and Bekenu to own book stocks in their respective libraries.

The simple handing over ceremony was held today at Toys World Miri’s premises.

Receiving on behalf of Lions Club of Batu Niah was its president Andy Jong, while the donor was represented by Joseph Chai of Toys World Miri.

Belle Bookstore and Toys World Miri have been operating here for the past 35 years since March 1988 at Beautiful Jade Centre.

In September 1992, they moved to Pelita Commercial Centre.

However, the premises was expected to close down today (December 31), after more than three decades in the business.
