MIRI: Schools in rural areas, especially those in the Baram constituency, face many challenges but these challenges have not prevented the teachers from performing their duties diligently.

At the Anugerah Perkhidmatan Cemerlang (APC) do for Baram district yesterday, Telang Usan assemblyman Dennis Ngau pointed out: “This APC is in recognition of your hard work and dedication. Well done!”

He commended the teachers for their performance and willingness to strive for excellence.

Dennis added that teachers serving in rural areas should be given a pat on the back for their sacrifices in educating children there.

He also reminded the teachers to keep abreast with today’s technological advancement.

“In order to be competitive heading into Industry 4.0, we must be technology-savvy.”

A total of 132 teaching and non-teaching staff from Baram district received their APC awards.

At the event, Dennis also pledged up to RM23,000 to the Baram APC, Baram District Principals Association and
Baram Headmasters Council Board.
