KUCHING: Current users of Sarawak Rural Broadband Network (MySRBN) registered during the trial period are urged to immediately download the MySDEC app by July 7 to continue using the enhanced internet service.
Following the new enhancements and coverage expansion, the Sarawak government through Sarawak Digital Economy Corporation (SDEC) recently introduced the MySRBN home prepaid package preloaded with 300MB of free data every month, allowing more people in rural areas to enjoy high-speed internet access.
SDEC chief executive officer Sudarnoto Osman said that it is crucial for existing MySRBN users to download the MySDEC app by July 7 to enable them to enjoy 300MB of free data and have the option to top up their data once their usage has exceeded 300MB.
“MySRBN users can choose to top-up their data from as low as RM5 a week with 200GB data or RM20 a month with 1TB data.
“However, users must first update their personal information by downloading the MySDEC app via Apple App Store, Google Play Store, or Huawei AppGallery,” he said.
He added that for existing MySRBN users, there is a special landing page pop-up on their device to fill out their necessary information before they can access the internet.
On top of registering for MySRBN, performing top-ups and payments, and updating their personal details, MySDEC app users are also able to use the app to receive real-time information updates on MySRBN and SDEC initiatives as well as have access to other government online portals.
