THE Rural Water Supply project (BALB) in Bukit Begunan, Sri Aman Division, will bring relief to approximately 450 new households and neighboring areas.
Deputy Minister for Utility and Telecommunication Datuk Dr. Abdul Rahman Junaidi said Sarawak aims to extend treated water supply to Selepong and Gua, with proposals already submitted under Rolling Plan 5 of the 12th Malaysian Plan (12MP) to the Ministry of Rural and Regional Development (KKDW) for swift implementation.
“The project will supply water to villages and longhouses at Kampung Engkeramut, Kampung Nyelam, Kampung Po Ai, Kampung Panggau and Kampung Batu Besai; from Melugu to Kampung Panggil and Kampung Selepong; and from Kampung Selepong Jinggau to Kampung Gua and Kampung Ran,” he said during the question-and-answer session at the Sarawak Legislative (DUN) sitting today.
Abdul Rahman outlined the project’s scope, detailing the installation of 65 kilometers of pipelines of various sizes, alongside the construction of a high-level water tank, booster station, and associated infrastructure works.
