KUALA LUMPUR: To Russian-born artist, writer and fashion enthusiast Natalya Bronzova, fashion and beauty can inspire — and lead to — national unity.

Bronzova is attracted to Malaysia’s unique religious, artistic and cultural diversity, and is determined to promote it to the foreign community here through fashion shows and beauty pageant.

“National unity among the various races in Malaysia can be attained through beauty. (Hence), I want to cooperate with the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture to promote art and beauty diplomacy by positioning beauty contestants.

“Promoting the various Malaysian national costumes such as Kebaya, Cheongsam and Saree through beauty pageant to the foreign community in Malaysia will be my utmost importance,” she told Bernama in an exclusive interview recently.

Bronzova recently organised a unique fashion show in Istana Budaya in Kuala Lumpur called Suria Queen’s Gala on Jan 3, promoting the Malaysian national costumes.

She also aided in the promotion of Mrs Chipao (Cheongsam) Malaysia beauty pageant besides Ms Russia Kebaya and Ms Philippines Kebaya for foreign communities residing in Malaysia.
