KUCHING: The highly anticipated Rainforest World Music Festival (RWMF) 2024 will start tomorrow (June 28) until June 30 at its permanent annual venue, the Sarawak Cultural Village.
This year’s theme aptly titled ‘Evolution,’ underscores the festival’s dedication to sustainability and responsible tourism.
Happening during the weekends, the festival will showcase a diverse lineup of international musicians and performers, including The Best Of Kitaro Live, Havana Social Club, Datuk Zainal Abidin, and Sarawakian multi-instrumentalist Belle Sisoski.
RWMF 2024 aims to celebrate the evolution of musical expressions, the unity found in diversity, the wisdom of indigenous traditions, and the cultivation of harmony that transcends boundaries.
International acts slated to perform include Alright Mela Meets Santoo (Pakistan/France), Bourbon Lassi (Australia/Malaysia), Imarhan (Algeria/France), Krakatau Ethno (Indonesia), Nini (Taiwan/USA), Rizal Hadi and Folk (Indonesia), Rhythm Rebels featuring Selonding Bali Aga (Indonesia), and Tribal Tide (Singapore).
The festival, spanning three days, is expected to exceed the 20,000 attendees recorded at RWMF 2023.
