KUCHING: The Rainforest World Music Festival (RWMF) 2025 is set to take place from June 20 to 22 next year.
In announcing this, Tourism, Creative Industries and Performing Arts Minister Datuk Seri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah said following this year’s record-breaking attendance, the next RWMF will feature even more international performers.
“Though we will not let our strategies be revealed, we will definitely match it to this year. This year will be our benchmark for the next RWMF,” he said.
He said this during a press conference of the third day of the RWMF 2024 here last night (June 30).
Abdul Karim also noted the potential ease of access for international participants with the upcoming establishment of Sarawak’s own airline.
“Hence, our worry now is the venue of the festival. Looking at the overwhelming response on that first night, you can see that there is practically no more space.
“We cannot really expand (the venue), but we will look into this matter. What is important is that everyone is happy.
“RWMF is not about the money but it is about sustainability, conservation, and publicity for Sarawak,” he said.
