KUCHING: The highly anticipated Rainforest World Music Festival (RWMF) 2023, organised by Sarawak Tourism Board, is gearing up for a ticket sales blitz.

According to a press release issued today, from June 9 to 11, music lovers can secure their passes by heading to Vivacity Megamall in Kuching, Plaza Merdeka in Kuching, and Bintang Megamall in Miri between 10 am and 10 pm.

“As an added incentive, attendees who purchase their tickets at these locations will have the chance to enter a lucky draw, with the possibility of winning an extra ticket to the festival (terms and conditions apply).

“The presale tickets are available across various categories: Adult 1-Day Pass for Friday/Sunday (RM230), Adult 1-Day Pass for Saturday (RM260), Adult 2-Day Pass for Friday + Saturday or Saturday + Sunday (RM440), Adult 3-Day Pass (RM590), and Child 1-Day Pass for Friday/Saturday/Sunday (RM80) under a limited-period offer,” it said.

Celebrating its 26th edition, RWMF 2023 boasts an incredible lineup of performers from diverse music genres.

Grammy Awards winner Gipsy Kings featuring Tonino Baliardo from France, Big Mountain from Jamaica and the USA, Safi Theatre from Tanzania, Rastak from Iran, Fasylive from Maldives, Afriquoi from the United Kingdom, Chatusram from India, Rizal Hadi & Folk from Indonesia, and Ethno Thai Fusion Sound Band from Thailand are among the highlights.

The festival will also showcase talented performers from Japan, Hong Kong, and Singapore.

RWMF 2023 also aims to shine a spotlight on Malaysia’s local talents from East and West Malaysia, including Zee Avi, Suk Binie, Aseana Percussion Unit, Nadir, Steve Thornton & Afroasia, Sada Borneo, Tuku Kame, Nading Rhapsody, Geng Wak Long, Buloh Bekocak, At Adau, Meruked, and Orang Orang Drum Theatre.

“Themed ‘Reflections,’ RWMF 2023 offers festival-goers a unique opportunity to not only experience world music and cultural traditions but also to connect with and embrace the underlying themes and values.

“It is a time for attendees to reflect on their connection with nature and develop a deeper understanding and appreciation of the diverse musical styles that exist in the world.”
