S OCIAL media influencer Ryzal Ibrahim, popularly known as Durian Kimchi channel co-founder, has said that he will not issue any apologies for his recent video, which has sparked the anger of netizens.

The content creator recently released a supposedly funny video about the life routine of the B40 (Bottom 40 percent of the income class in Malaysia), showing the supposed “life routine” of the said class as they show off expensive accessories and buy items that are above their means.

Many slammed Ryzal for the post, mostly claiming that the content creator was just being arrogant and pretending to know how life is for the B40.

In response, Ryzal, who is married to South Korean Maryam You Narae, also a content creator, stated that he will not apologise for the post as he doesn’t think that he is guilty of anything.

“If you take the positive side of it, I was not insulting B40. I was raising awareness.

The video shows the reality of what is happening in our daily lives right now. My intention was to let the public be aware of this,” he added. He also said that the whole issue could just be a case of lost in translation, as his joke was “too deep”.

“Maybe they weren’t able to understand the real meaning of what I wanted to convey. I will be more careful when uploading content in the future, but I would not apologise for that one,” he added.
