KUCHING: Association of Wives of Ministers and Assistant Ministers of Sarawak (Sabati) president Datin Patinggi Datuk Juma’ani Tuanku Bujang presented donations to 11 recipients totalling RM85,000.
The donations were financial assistance to two special children and four patients needing long-term medical care, 150 mattresses to Sarawak Orphans Welfare Organisation (Peryatim) Laila Taib Complex, a donation to Quran Tahfiz Association (Pinta), a call button system for the geriatric ward of the Sarawak Heart Centre, ten Braille typewriters to SK Pendidikan Khas Kuching and a large capacity washing machine to Sarawak Hun Nam Siang Tng (SHNST) Old Folks Home.
The presentation ceremony took place at Sabati’s office at Wisma Sultan Tengah here, today.
The donations were given in accordance to applications received by Sabati from the community on seeking welfare assistance and after visiting the welfare organisations involved to find out the state of the problem.
Also present were Sabati honorary secretary Datin Zaliha Abdullah and the executive council members of Sabati.
