DARO: The Sarawak United National Youth Association (Saberkas) Daro plans to distribute more than 3,000 packets of “bubur lambuk” to the public through its Ramadan programme to be held in 10 villages in this district.
State Saberkas secretary Safiee Ahmad said the programme was in line with the holy month of Ramadan and aimed at fostering ties between Saberkas members and the local communities.
According to him, the programme also involves the cooking of the “bubur lambuk” by Saberkas members and the residents of the 10 villages here.
“The programme started in Kampung Tengah, Pangtray, Panchur, Masjid, Kampung Baru, Lemang Pek, Badong, Tebaang, Itol and is expected to end in Nangar.
“It is organised by Saberkas in collaboration with the Surau and Mosque Management Committees and other organisations in the 10 villages,” Safiee told Sarawak Voice yesterday after attending a “bubur lambuk” distribution programme at Kpg Badong.
Safiee, who is also Daro assemblyman, added that the programme was a continuation of activities organised by Saberkas during this year’s Ramadan.
Activities organised during Ramadan were able to strengthen ties and cooperation among Saberkas Daro, government agencies and non-governmental organisations (NGOs), he said.
“I am very happy and excited to see the high spirit shown by the villagers during the preparation of the “bubur lambuk” despite their fatigue and fasting.
“In fact, this programme is fun because it involves the participation of residents in every village. It is our objective to inculcate the spirit of mutual cooperation among the residents,” he said.
