BINTULU: Sarawak United National Youth Organisation (SABERKAS) Kakus branch recently distributed about 300 packs of ‘bubur lambuk’ (savoury porridge)to the people of Tatau.
Its Jerayawara Bubur Lambuk programme, a collaboration with the Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) of SK Tatau, took place in front of the school.
SABERKAS Kakus branch president Mohammad Rizal Julaihi said the distribution of the porridge was to strengthen ties with the community, regardless of religion and race.
“This year’s Ramadan is meaningful to SABERKAS as we are celebrating our 50th anniversary,” he said.
He added all SABERKAS branches in Sarawak were organising the Jerayawara Bubur Lambuk programme in conjunction with Ramadan.
SK Tatau headmaster Ibai Aning, Pemanca Gerosen Jubin, Penghulu Lim Tchia Hong and Kampung Baru Tatau chief Ahmad Mohd Mokthar were present during the programme here.
