DARO: Sarawak United National Youth Organisation (SABERKAS) Semop branch will be organising more youth empowerment programmes for young people in the area here.
Its chairman Datuk Abdullah Saidol said the programme includes knowledge sharing covering entrepreneurship and agriculture sector.
“In addition, allocation also will be given to hold programmes including during the month of Ramadan,” he said.
He said this when attending the SABERKAS Semop branch Ramadan Roadshow 2023 at Pulau Bruit here recently.
On the programme, he said it is an annual event of the SABERKAS Semop branch since it was established 10 years ago.
The programme saw about 100 SABERKAS Semop branch members joining to prepare the bubur lambuk as early as 8 am.
Abdullah, who is also the Deputy Minister in the Premier’s Office (Corporate Affairs, Information and UKAS) and other community leaders then distributed the bubur lambuk to the locals passing along the Kampung Penuai T-junction.
Earlier, the programme was part of Abdullah’s three day working visit schedule. He also stopped by Kampung Sedau, Kampung Penipah, Kampung Bruit, Kampung Melayu Bintangor, longhouses in Bekakong, Kelai and Sungai Sian.
At the same time, he also presented minor rural project (MRP) grants totalling RM164,500 to the respective Village Security and Development Committees (JKKKs) and Parent-Teacher Associations (PTAs).
