KUCHING: The first day of Rainforest World Music Festival (RWMF) yesterday went smoothly.

Before they were allowed to enter the Sarawak Cultural Village, venue of the festival, all visitors had to go through safety checks.

There were also a few food trucks, craft and service stalls at the village.

In the afternoon, the visitors witnessed a few performances at Dewan Lagenda. At the Theatre Stage, they watched a few videos on the traditional musical instruments and traditions of a few ethnicities in Sarawak including the Bidayuh, Iban, Orang Ulu, Melanau , Malay, Chinese and others.

A few musical performances from other countries including Indonesia, Canada were also screened for the audience.

Although it rained in the afternoon, that did not stop the crowd from turning up at the Sarawak Cultural Village.
