SARAWAK Pakatan Harapan (PH) chairman Chong Chieng Jen has a wild imagination, according to Assistant Minister of Native Land Development Datuk Roland Sagah Wee Inn (pic).
Sagah opined that Chong had always tried to spin something that was good for the people into something negative – he was referring to Chong’s statement that the State 2020 Budget was another 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB) in the making.
“Certainly this (State 2020 Budget) has nothing to do with 1MDB. Chong’s analogy is just a figment of his imagination,” he told reporters at the State Legislative Assembly (DUN) lobby yesterday.
Sagah argued that the budget, which was tabled by Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg, was a very good one that benefitted every Sarawakian.
“The best part of the budget is its focus towards developing the state, especially rural areas, to ensure the rural community is not left out.”
He then said Abang Johari had carefully looked into the state’s revenue and expenses to develop the state and bring benefits to the people.
On the first day of the second session of the DUN sitting, Chong remarked that the budget could lead to another 1MDB-ish scandal.
