KUCHING: The Ministry of Education, Innovation and Talent Development has called upon the new federal government to give due consideration to autonomy over education for Sarawak.

Its Minister Datuk Roland Sagah Wee Inn said the autonomy shall include matters of policy and execution.

“However, the federal government shall continue to provide the required funding,” he said.

He said this in his ministerial winding-up speech at the Sarawak State Legislative Assembly (DUN) sitting today (Nov 29).

At the same time, on behalf of the Bidayuh community, Sagah congratulated Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim for the latter’s appointment as the country’s 10th Prime Minister.

“We look forward to working together with the federal government,” he said.
