SERIAN: Tarat incumbent Datuk Roland Sagah Wee Inn said he would defend his seat upon getting the directive from the president of Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB).
According to Sagah who is Assistant Minister of Agriculture, Native Land and Regional Development, it was up to Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari who is also PBB president, to give the directive as members of Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) would abide by the group’s system.
“If Abang Johari has given us the order to defend ourselves and our seats, then we are ready,” he told reporters after the handover ceremony of input and certificate for Livestock Project for Tarat Constituency at Kampung Chupak, yesterday.
When asked if GPS is ready for the 12th state election, Sagah opined that everyone in GPS has been ready and well-prepared since last year.
“Not only did we decide to visit our constituencies to prepare for early election, it was because we wanted to visit and meet up with the grassroots,” he said.
He also highlighted that the coalition of parties in GPS has no ill feelings with each other. Instead they are unified, intact and ready to serve the masses, he stressed.
