KUCHING: Communications and Multimedia Minister Datuk Saifuddin Abdullah arrived at Kuching International Airport (KIA) at 10.45am Monday (Sep 7) for a two-day visit to Sarawak.

He is here to attend the main organising committee meeting for the Malaysia Day celebration to be hosted by Sibu on Sept 16.

Last night (Monday), Saifuddin was interviewed live by Radio Television Malaysia (RTM) with a guest — a Sarawak historian, Datuk Dr Sanib Said — in a Malaysia Day Special Edition programme.

On Tuesday Saifuddin will pay a courtesy visit on the head of state, Tun Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud at Demak Jaya, at 10am before leaving for Sibu to attend the Malaysia Day celebration main committee meeting at 2.30pm at Kingwood Hotel in Sibu.

His arrival on Monday was greeted by senior officials and agencies under the Communications and Multimedia Ministry in Sarawak.

Also present were Information Department (JaPEN) Sarawak director, Swady Guliling, Adiman Ajem from the head office of the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission and Finas Sarawak senior assistant director, Maffizan Saupie.
