MIRI: The Sailfish Swimming Club has recently achieved outstanding success at the Mayor Adam Yii Siew Shan 4th Sprint Meet 2023.

The club proudly secured eight gold, seven silver, and 17 bronze medals.

In a statement yesterday, a total of 36 athletes from the club participated in the event, with one standout performer, Hector Ho Rze Jun, who won an impressive seven gold medals and set a new record for the sprint meet competitions.

Ho’s exceptional performance earned him the honour of representing Malaysia in the upcoming 45th Southeast Asian Age Group Swimming Championships in Jakarta, Indonesia, which will take place from August 24 to August 26.

Apart from their remarkable achievements in competitions, the club actively participates in various events both domestically and internationally.

Additionally, the club is also involved in social welfare initiatives.

One of their collaborations is with the Sarawak United People’s Party Lambir Branch to organise free swimming classes for children from Miri Methodist Children’s Home at the South Lake Club in Permyjaya here every Sunday.
