MIRI: Sarawak’s sailing team achieved a remarkable double victory, securing gold in both the Men’s and Women’s International 420 categories on Friday.
The men’s team, represented by Syahzaroul Aiman Rozaiman and Muhammad Amirul Aqma, delivered a stellar performance, edging out competitors from Terengganu, who claimed the silver, and Sabah, who took the bronze.
In the women’s category, the Sarawak duo of Nurul Shazwanie Mohd Saad and Nur Asma Syahrizan clinched the gold, outperforming Sabah’s Nur Awatif Safri and Nur Hafizahnani Zailan, who took silver.
Selangor’s team, comprising Ummu Nurdania Rozaini and Nurul Izzryn Shamsul Ariffin, finished in third place.
Sarawak also showed strength in the RS One category.
The men’s team secured a bronze medal, trailing behind Terengganu with silver and Kedah with gold.
In the RS One Women’s category, Sarawak earned a silver medal, with Terengganu taking gold and Pulau Pinang securing the bronze.
This impressive performance underscores Sarawak’s growing prowess in the national sailing arena, bringing pride to the state and setting a high standard for future competitions.
