KUCHING: Sarawak Information Systems Sdn Bhd (SAINS) and MSC Trustgate, a leading licensed certification authority in Malaysia, have entered a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen the digital ecosystem in Sarawak.

The strategic collaboration by both entities resulted in the signing of the MoU aimed at promoting secure digital signatures, data protection, and enhanced cybersecurity services.

This partnership aligns with Sarawak’s strategic vision to enhance its digital infrastructure, making it a hub for secure digital transactions in Malaysia and beyond.

SAINS chief executive officer (CEO) Busiai Seman highlighted the long-term benefits of the partnership, emphasizing its role in developing local talent.

“The key benefits of this partnership include building local talent in Certificate Authority solutions. This will provide more flexibility and options in the future,” he said.

Busiai said this during the MoU signing ceremony in conjunction with the International Digital Economy Conference Sarawak (IDECS) 2024, held at Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK) yesterday (Oct 17).
