KOTA SAMARAHAN: Batang Sadong Member of Parliament Rodiyah Sapiee has called on the public, especially people around Kuching, Asajaya and Sadong Jaya, not to miss the opportunity to visit the ongoing Digital Exhibition here.
She was present to attend the soft opening of the Digital Exhibition in conjunction with the 60 Years of Sarawak Independence celebration at the Samarahan Division level 2023 at the Summer Shopping Mall yesterday.
Rodiyah visited all 15 exhibition sites involving Sarawak government ministries located in the building involved before visiting the site for 60 entrepreneurs’ business tents ‘Samarahan Kitchen’ and the entrepreneurs’ hawker centre.
All the hawker centres are located in a row in the parking lot of the shopping centre.
Following the visit, Rodiyah felt excited about the preparations that had been made and hoped that the three-day programme would run smoothly.
“Overall I see that this exhibition is beneficial to visitors because it provides information especially regarding development in Sarawak including in Samarahan.
“Apart from that, various initiatives prepared by the Sarawak government were also exhibited by all government agencies at this exhibition site,” she told reporters at the Summer Shopping Mal.
Rodiyah said the response from visitors was very encouraging even though it was only the first day.
The celebration of 60 years of Sarawak Independence at the Samarahan Division level will continue until Sunday (July 18).
The event is expected to be lively today with the presence of Premier, Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg who will attend the Merdeka Sarawak Adventure Convoy from Serian to Samarahan.
The convoy is expected to be welcomed at Summer Samarahan and witness Abang Johari inaugurating the exhibition site.
