Traffic jams between Kota Samarahan and Kuching is expected to ease up once a federal-funded upgrading works along Jalan Datuk Mohd Musa to G3 Roundabout of Kota Samarahan are completed, said Coastal Road Assistant Minister Datuk Julaihi Narawi.
The project, once completed, will include four additional lanes, three new bridges, additional pedestrian walk and street lighting installation along the Kota Samarahan road, he said during the assembly sitting here yesterday.
Replying to a supplementary question from Datuk Mohammad Ali Mahmud (GPS-Stakan), he said the project is still at the design stage and undergoing preparation of tender documents after its Value Engineering Lab was completed last month.
The total cost of the project is RM228.4 million and it is expected to begin by end of August and it will take up to 36 months to complete.
