MIRI: Samling Group of Companies yesterday donated 49,000 pieces of face masks to 14 non-governmental organisations (NGOs) here to help keep them safe from the Covid-19 virus.
The simple handing over ceremony was held at Wisma Samling, Jalan Brighton here.
Transport Minister Datuk Lee Kim Shin, who is also minister in-charge of Miri Division Disaster Management Committee, received the masks on behalf of the NGOs.
The 14 beneficiaries were Persatuan Teksi Miri; Persatuan Teksi Eklusif Miri; Persatuan Tuan Punya Bas Sekolah Miri; Persatuan Bas Sekolah Miri; Komuniti Pasar Malam Miri; Pusat Aktiviti Warga Emas Miri; Persatuan Penjaja and Bersatu Miri; Pusat Sunflower Miri; Persatuan Orang Buta Miri-Bintulu; Persatuan Orang Pekak Miri; Pusat dan Pemulihan Dalam Komuniti (PDK) Miri; Kumpulan Bantuan Ibu Tunggal Miri; Persatuan Perkhidmatan Parliatif Miri; and Rumah Warga Emas Miri.
