SAR launched for man who went missing in Kg Kuap forest

A motorcycle was found in the forest, however, it was not revealed whether it belonged to the victim or not.

KOTA SAMARAHAN: A search and rescue (SAR) operation was launched to locate a man reported missing in a forest at Kampung Kuap, Jalan Batu 10 on today (Dec 13).

A spokesman from the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said they received an emergency call pertaining to the incident around 3.35pm and dispatched firefighters from the Kota Samarahan station to the scene.

The man has been identified as Alemson Siriyos.

Upon arrival, the team promptly initiated a search in a 2km radius from Kampung Kuap.

At around 6.20pm, the team managed to detect the victim’s tracks and they are currently following the route.

Further details pertaining to the incident have yet to be disclosed by the authorities and the team managed to find a motorcycle believed to belong to the victim in the forest.

At press time, the search is still ongoing and the victim is yet to be found.
