KUCHING: A search and rescue (SAR) operations has been activated after a teenage girl was reported missing and feared drown at a river in Kampung Giam Lama, Puncak Borneo in Padawan today (Mar 3).
State Fire and Rescue operations centre received a distress call at 4.04pm informing it of the incident.
“The victim’s status is still unknown. Members from Siburan Fire and Rescue Station and the Batu Lintang Fire and Rescue Station diving team were directed to the scene.
“The search team began searching using the ‘Surface Searching’ method while the diving team also conducted underwater searches,” it said in a statement.
As at press time, 13-year-old Rachel Standly has not been found.
