KUCHING: The Sarawak Aesthetic Group Gymnastics Association (SAGGA) will host the first-ever Sarawak Aesthetic Group Gymnastics Carnival 2024 from June 24 to 27.
It will be held at the Sarawak United Peoples’ Party (SUPP) headquarters here, celebrating the beauty and grace of Aesthetic Group Gymnastics (AGG).
The carnival will begin on June 24 with a full day of activities. The National Assessment Development (NAD) Grading Competition will begin at 9.3 am, followed by an inter-school competition at 2 pm.
The highlight of the day will be the opening and prize giving ceremony at 4 pm, which will feature Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Dr Sim Kui Hian and Minister for Public Health, Housing, and Local Government, as the guest of honour along with the Malaysian AGG Association (MAGGA) president Datuk Abdul Malek Noor.
The event will end on June 27 with the International Federation of AGG (IFAGG)-(MAGGA) training workshop starting at 9 am, and the closing ceremony at noon, which will be attended by Batu Kitang assemblyman Datuk Lo Khere Chiang.
Additionally, international AGG expert Iryna Gutnik from the United States of America (USA) will also conduct a two-day workshop to enhance skills.
Nearly 200 AGG enthusiasts from Kuala Lumpur, Selangor, Melaka, and Sarawak will participate in the event.
SAGGA in a statement reaffirmed its commitment to the development of grassroots athletes and is introducing a new school programme this year to expand AGG in schools.
