BOGOR: Minister of Tourism, Creative Industry, and Performing Arts (MTCP) Sarawak Datuk Seri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah paid a courtesy call on Indonesia’s Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Dr Sandiaga Uno here on Tuesday.
In a statement following the meeting, Abdul Karim said it was aimed at promoting Sarawak as a tourism destination.
The meeting was also in conjunction with the International Conference on Responsible Tourism & Hospitality (ICRTH).
“In addition, economic cooperation agendas between Bogor and Sarawak were also discussed.
“We hope that this visit can enhance and strengthen the relationship between Indonesia and Sarawak,” he said.
The ICRTH, taking place from Aug 21 to 25, is held at the IPB International Convention Centre (IICC) in Bogor.
Accompanying Abdul Karim during the visit were MTCP deputy minister Datuk Sebastian Ting; Deputy State Secretary (Operations) Datuk Hii Chang Kee; MTCP permanent secretary Datuk Sherrina Hussaini; and Sarawak Tourism Board (STB) chairman Dennis Ngau.
