KUCHING: The Sarawak Bumiputera Golf Association (SBGA) intends to establish a junior golf academy.

SBGA president Irwan Zulkarnain Muhammad Hasbie said the academy would train teenagers and school students.

“We have not yet discussed the details with Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Tun Openg but he will support the proposal.”

He said this when met by the media after he paid a courtesy call on the Premier at Wisma Bapa Malaysia here on Tuesday (April 11).

Irwan added that SBGA would keep in touch with the Premier’s Office and related agencies to realise this dream.

Meanwhile, touching on the courtesy call, he said it was to introduce the new committee of SBGA for 2021-2023.

“Besides that, there was also a discussion about the annual programmes that have been carried out by the association.”
