KUCHING: The Sarawak Cheshire Home’s Annual Open Day will be held on 2 July, 2017 from 8.00am to 12.30pm at its premises at Jalan Ong Tiang Swee here.
As in previous years, a large number of stalls will be put up by various voluntary, uniformed and youth organisations.
Also taking part will be different religious groups and service clubs, political parties and others from the public and private sectors.
An important group comprises the social clubs from the public and private sectors.
Local and international delicacies, cakes and drinks will be on sale. There will be a number of stalls selling potted plants, jungle produce, used clothing, books and magazines.
The residents of the Home will be offering their handicrafts for sale. Orders can be placed with the Matron anytime.
Coupons are on sale now and also on the day itself.
The entire proceeds of the Open Day will be used solely for the benefit of the disabled at the Home, who come from different parts of Sarawak and are from various ethnic, religious and cultural groups.
Last year’s Open Day was a great success, Total amount of RM150,773.40 was collected.
Expenses for the whole project were RM526.80. The management was overwhelmed by the great generosity and support of the public, and expressed thanks to all stallholders, volunteers, voluntary, civic, uniformed bodies, the public and private sectors, the mass media and the staff of the Home for their splendid contributions and generous support given to the fundraising project.
The Sarawak Cheshire Home invites more organisations in the public and private sectors and diplomatic missions to take up stalls during the Open Day.

Donors are requested to ask for official receipts for all donations, including anonymous cash donations, from the Sarawak Cheshire Home.
Under no circumstances should a donor leave the Sarawak Cheshire Home without being given an official receipt. This is to ensure that every sen donated is accounted for and properly acknowledged.
