KUCHING: The Sarawak Chief Ombudsman, Datuk Sri Abdul Ghafur Shariff, took an oath of office before the Judge of the Sabah and Sarawak High Court, Yang Arif Datuk Dr Alwi Abdul Wahab.
The ceremony took place at the Kuching High Court on August 26.
According to a statement released by the Premier’s Office, the swearing-in ceremony was attended by the director of the Sarawak Integrity and Ombudsman Unit (UNIONS), Wan Mohamad Wan Drahman, who serves as the Chief Administrator of the Sarawak Ombudsman.
“The event demonstrates a strong commitment of the Sarawak Government to enhance public service delivery, ensure good governance, and increase public confidence and trust in the government’s administrative machinery,” it stated.
The swearing-in ceremony was conducted according to the provision under Section 7 of the Sarawak Ombudsman Ordinance 2023.
