KUCHING: The Sarawak-China Friendship Association (SCFA) convened its 17th Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Tuesday, March 5 here recently, with new office-bearers elected to serve a two-year term for 2024-2025.
According to the press statement, the new leadership line-up remains headed by president Datuk Wee Kok Tiong, whilst Datuk Mohd Amin Satem served as deputy president.
The other three vice-presidents are Hu Yu Siong, Datuk Tan Jit Kee and Datuk Wee Kok Hui.
“Kho Swee Aik continues in his role as secretary-general, while Ong Chee Chiang serves as assistant secretary-general and Dr. Wang Yin Chai as treasurer. Additionally, the committee includes Datuk Sri Chai Ten Boon, Lee Wei Gia and Chen Ming,” the statement read.
SCFA, which was established in 2005 boasts a diverse membership comprising multiple ethnicities.
It serves as a crucial platform aimed at bolstering socio-economic, cultural, tourism, educational, and business relations between China and Sarawak.
“The president conveyed his gratitude to the members for their endorsement and vote of confidence, expressing assurance that he will lead the association to even greater heights,” it concludes.
