SARAWAK civil servants will receive a Special Financial Assistance or Bantuan Khas Kewangan (BKS), which is equivalent to two months’ salary.
Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg announced this during his ministerial winding up speech today (Nov 20).
“The year 2024 has marked numerous achievements for Sarawak across various sectors, including being crowned champions of the Malaysia Games (SUKMA). These accomplishments are the result of contributions from all parties, including members of the Sarawak Civil Service.
“As a token of appreciation for the dedication and commitment of Sarawak Civil Service members, I am pleased to announce a BKK equivalent to two months’ basic salary based on the November 2024 payroll.
“The BKK will be disbursed in December 2024,” he said.
Abang Johari, who is also the Finance and New Economy Minister extended his gratitude to members of the Federal Civil Service serving in Sarawak.
“To honour their service and contributions, I am pleased to announce a one-off Special Financial Assistance of RM700 per person, which will be paid in the first quarter of 2025,” he said.
He added the total financial implication for both BKK incentives is estimated at RM190 million.
