All Sarawak civil servants will receive a special monthly allowance starting January next year, based on their grade group rates.
Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg announced the initiative, which aligns with salary adjustments under the Public Service Remuneration System (SSPA) introduced by the federal government.
“The Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) government has agreed to implement a special monthly allowance for Sarawak civil servants, structured according to their grade group, with the following rates: RM400 for the Implementer Group, Grades 1 to 4; RM500 for the Implementer Group, Grades 5 to 8; RM600 for the Management and Professional Group, Grades 9 to 15; and RM700 for the Top Management Group.”
Abang Johari shared this during his ministerial winding-up speech today (Nov 20).
He reiterated that the GPS government remains committed to the welfare of Sarawak’s civil servants.
“During the Budget Speech, I announced that the Sarawak government will adopt the SSPA introduced by the federal government.
“This will involve improvements and salary adjustments for all public service members in Sarawak.”
