KUCHING: Sarawak civil service should adopt lean management and utilise full aspect of technology to optimise their work process and to deliver efficient services to the public, said Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg.

He said with this new approach, it would not only enable cost and time saving, but would also bring about higher productivity than the conventional way.

“Of course, there are people talking about bloated civil service, some are talking about reducing the civil services.

“But the fact is that management scholars they say what is important is for you to have a good process in order to acquire certain productivity that has been given to you.

“I hope civil service has a very lean management, effective and has high productivity,” he said in his speech at the Sarawak Civil Service Innovation Convention Awards (SCSICA) here Wednesday.

The SCSICA was organised to acknowledge civil servants who had contributed to effective government services through their innovations and creative solutions. – Bernama
