KUCHING:  Sarawak solidified their dominance in tenpin bowling by retaining the overall championship title at the Malaysia Games (SUKMA), capping off the 21st edition with a total of five gold medals as the competition concluded today.

The final day of Aug 20 at Megalanes Sarawak Emart Batu Kawa saw Sarawak’s Tsen Fan Yew clinching the gold in the men’s masters category.

With an impressive pinfall of 625, Tsen not only brought glory to Sarawak but also established himself as a formidable figure on the national bowling stage.

Tsen’s victory did not come easy, as he faced a fierce challenge from Mohd Zuhair Zailani of Penang, who ultimately settled for the silver with a pinfall of 603. The bronze medal went to Wan Muhammad Zarif Ikram Wan of Terengganu, who recorded a pinfall of 419.

In the women’s masters category, Sarawak hopeful Nur Hazirah Ramli fell short of the podium.

The gold was secured by Nur Anis of Kedah, while Anis Hanani of Johor claimed silver, and Adelia Nur of Selangor took home the bronze.

Overall, the Sarawak contingent finished with five gold, one silver, and two bronze, reaffirming their status as the reigning champions in tenpin bowling.

This triumph further cements Sarawak’s reputation as a powerhouse in the tenpin bowling.
