KUCHING: IANA Corporation Sdn Bhd, the producer of Sarawak Layer Cake (Kek Lapis) has been recently chosen by the Federal Agricultural Marketing Authority (FAMA), to participate in an exhibition in London from Feb 25 to March 17.
The exhibition is the largest in the United Kingdom for stakeholders, especially in the retail, food, restaurant, import and export, and distribution sectors.
This year, the event has attracted over 6,000 attendees from more than 70 countries.
In addition to Iana Corporation, the other Malaysian companies involved are Haliza Industries Sdn Bhd, Foods Wise Network Sdn Bhd, Bertambest Sdn Bhd and AGYM Nutrition Sdn Bhd.
Rosilawati Abu Hassan, deputy director of FAMA Management Division, mentioned that besides showcasing entrepreneurs’ products at this exhibition, several events had been planned, including conducting In-Store Promotions at an Asian store, Loon Fung, which has been in the UK market since 1965.
She said additionally, several business matching sessions would be held with participating entrepreneurs alongside importers and distributors.
Representative for IANA Corporation, Mohammad Hafidz Rohani stated that participating in this programme was an attempt for the company to secure importers from European countries and to observe and conduct demand studies in this region.
