The State government is gearing up its major initiative for Sarawak Corridor of Renewable Energy (SCORE) to achieve its mission to become a developed state by 2030.
Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg said various infrastructure, socioeconomic projects and programmes would be implemented under the Upper Rajang Development Agency (URDA), Highland Development Agency (HDA) and Northern Region Development Agency (NRDA) next year.
“These include the construction of roads and bridges, electricity and water supply, and telecommunication towers,” he said during the tabling of the 2020 State Budget at the State Legislative Assembly here yesterday.
Abang Johari said the construction of infrastructure would benefit over 330,000 people in URDA, HDA and NRDA regions.
“By focusing on the development of energy-intensive industries, this can stimulate the growth of the local economy, create more jobs and more business opportunities,” he added.
