SIBU: Sarawak’s badminton team has advanced to the quarter-finals of the 21st Malaysia Games (SUKMA) after topping Group A alongside Selangor.

Sarawak’s hopes of a deep run in the tournament rest on the shoulders of players like Jeremy Juan Zhen Liang.

The 20-year-old is confident his team can overcome the challenges ahead.

“We’re focused on giving our best and fighting until the end,” Juan said.

“We’re lucky to have avoided Wilayah Persekutuan and Selangor in the early rounds, but we know every match will be tough.”

Sarawak will take on Perak in a crucial quarter-final tomorrow (Aug 19) at 10am.

A win will book them a place in the semi-finals later that day.
