MUKAH: Mukah Polytechnic (PMU) staff and Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) Sarawak senior lecturers have implemented a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Programme at Pesantren Al-Murabbi in Pontianak, West Kalimantan, Indonesia, recently.
The delegation was led by PMU Internationalisation Unit head Mohammad Fardillah Wahi.
According to a statement issued by PMU, the activities carried out during the programme involved the installation of six solar lamp units at the pesantren.
“The installation activity was led by the head of the Technical Committee in collaboration with the pesantren to ensure that the installation was placed in a strategic location.
“This installation work was carried out after receiving information that the area often experiences power outages,” said the statement.
In addition to solving the problem of power outages, the CSR directly helps the process of learning and memorising the Al-Quran to run smoothly in an effort to produce Hafiz and Hafizah.
At the same time, this group expressed their appreciation to the Indonesian Customs who gave tax relief to the management.
This includes the Consul General of the Republic of Indonesia in Kuching, the Sarawak State National Security Council and Education Malaysia Indonesia (EMI), Jakarta for helping to make the CSR Programme in Pontianak, Indonesia a success.
